We all put ourselves in and out of trances throughout the day, like when you’ve driven to work and wondered how you got there?
Hypnotherapy is a tool to help you work through whatever is troubling you, using trance to help you.
We often want to make changes, but following through in reality can be an issue. Using hypnosis allows your conscious and subconscious mind to reach an agreement. Or, to put it another way, when what you say you’ll do something, but a devil on your shoulder stops you. We all have one. Sometimes we're just not aware that it's talking to us!
The subconscious mind would have you going over and over the same issue time and time again with your Therapist. But that’s not what hypnotherapy is about. Repeating the same events over and over can anchor them in place, causing the issue to become more deeply entrenched.
It’s used to help a range of issues, such as –
- Boosting confidence.
- Reducing anxiety.
- Weight management.
- Building resilience.
- Sleep problems.
- Smoking or vaping cessation.
For women going through perimenopause and beyond it can help with managing power surges (AKA hot flushes).
You, the client, are in control at all times. So, while you're in a trance - and no, I don't wave a watch in front of your eyes! - you're aware of everything around you and can come out of it whenever you want to.
Sessions usually last up to an hour.
Depending on your issue you may need one – five sessions, which we’ll discuss in your initial free consultation.
When we're in pain it's usually for a reason, it's a warning, like burning your hand on the hob teaches you not to do it again!
Under normal circumstances, the pain reduces and disappears as we heal. But sometimes this doesn't happen and we're left in pain because the pain messages have got scrambled and stuck.
Like the Christmas lights getting tangled up, the pain refuses to undo and go away.

IEMT - Integral Eye Movement Therapy
IEMT is talking therapy that’s excellent for anxiety, trauma & post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
After highly emotive events it can often become difficult for you to separate the emotion from the event. So every time you think about 'X' happening you have all the emotional attachments you felt at the time kick in again.
Going through the process of IEMT allows you to ‘see’ the event without the mental association that keeps you reliving the emotion. It doesn't stop the fact that the event happened. But it allows you to view the event without the associated negative or traumatic emotions.
Sessions typically last for 60 minutes
In order to work through the whole process, four-six sessions are usually required depending on your issue.
