Trauma & PTSD

Commonly a reaction to an extreme event(s) where you become stuck in a loop.

Our brains are clever, complicated, fantastic things, but sometimes they get stuck. They can't seem to move forwards and they keep looping around events in our past.

They think they're protecting us, it's what they do. Our brains are bombarded with 1000's bits of information continuously and have to try and make sense of it all. So, they compare with what they've already stored.....this is like this and that's what we did last time

But sometimes with trauma and PTSD we get stuck in the twilight zone and keep going over and over the same incidence and nobody wants to live like that.

Using eye movement therapy we can effectively do a Ctrl, Alt, Delete on those looping thoughts and reset our brain. This does not mean that the event never took place, but what it does is break the emotional connection to the event which keeps pulling you back in each time.

The beauty of this treatment is that you do not have to tell the therapist what the issue is and you are never asked to relive the problem experience during the session.

So, if you feel that you're stuck and unable to move forwards, get in touch and let's get started.
